Cookie policy

Reading this site sets no cookie of ours. Here is everything that can be set, and by whom.

What we set

Nothing, for reading. This publication is a set of static pages: no login, no session, no first-party tracking cookie. The newsletter form sends your address to our server when you submit it and stores no cookie in your browser.

What third parties set

Set byPurposeCategory
Google AdSenseServing ads, capping how often you see the same ad, measuring clicks, and detecting fraudAdvertising
Google (ad personalisation)Selecting ads based on your interests, only where you have consentedAdvertising, consent-based
CloudflareSecurity and bot mitigation for the site itselfStrictly necessary

If advertising is not yet enabled on this site, none of the advertising cookies above are set at all: the ad slots render a house promotion with no third-party script.

Your choices

  • In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerlandyou are shown a consent prompt before any non-essential cookie is set. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the same prompt, which is reachable from the ad frame or by clearing this site's storage.
  • Anywhere you can turn off personalised advertising at myadcenter.google.com, and block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them does not break anything here.
  • An ad blocker is fine by us. The pages are designed to look right without the ads loading.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We set no first-party tracking cookies, so there is nothing on our side for these signals to turn off. Where a browser sends Global Privacy Control, it is passed to our advertising partner along with your consent choice.
